"Amazing hidden gem. To sit and listen to NOTHING whilst sat outside is something else. Perfect get away if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of life. Ideal for local beach's and attractions such as Looe & Polperro. But only an hour away from the North Cornwall coast. The dogs loved the beach at Seaton."

The Paine Family

"We didn’t leave a message in your visitor book as we didn’t have a pen! I’ve realised how digital we all are this week!

Instead I thought I would write you an email you can use and say thank you for having us.

Trehalvin is set in a wonderfully peaceful location and is absolutely beautiful, Cider Cottage is full of charm and our children loved their bedroom in the roof.

Peter and Val are so friendly and really do make you feel at home, we really appreciated the wine and basics provided on our arrival, it’s clear that a lot of thought has been put into the guests experience.

The pool didn’t disappoint and was the highlight of the holiday for our children with many hours spend splashing around.

Again thank you for having us!"

The Fenton-Brown family from Wiltshire (Daisy Lodge)

"We have had a great week in this very comfortable Lodge. It is perfectly located to visit both the South and North coasts.  We took the train to Plymouth from Liskeard and went to the Aquarium.  The Eden Project is less than one hour away and The Hall Walk around Fowey was another highlight. Thank you for a lovely holiday."

Gwen, Stewart, Lily and Benjamin Moore (Sam's Cabin)

"We have had a truly wonderful week at Sam's Cabin, it is absolutely perfect for our little family.  From the welcome gifts ( that glass of wine and chocolate biscuit after the kids went to bed was heavenly).  The beautiful swimming pool, which was enjoyed despite the weather to the lush green grass in front of the cabin for our two year old to play.

Sam's Cabin is ideally located, there is lots to do locally, we spent two days exploring Looe and Polperro (including a boat trip around Looe Island).  We also went further afield to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, Lands End, Healey's Ryder Farm and Perranporth.  We also loved The Eden Project.  Thank you Val and Pete for a wonderful week."

Steve and Linda Tinkler from Grantham, Lincs (Daisy Lodge)

"Daisy Lodge can only be described as fantastic - from its crisp white bed linen to the superbly presented soft furnishings the whole feeling is of quality and attention to detail.  When you add in the beautiful view, a swimming pool and hosts who genuinely believe that their guests should have the best it is not difficult to say that Daisy Lodge delivers on all it promises.  Thank you Peter and Val.  This is well worth sending across to Cornish Cottage Holidays."

Su and Cerys from Bristol (Sam's Cabin)

"Had a wonderful few days in Sam's Cabin, an ideal location for a complete relaxing break.  Visited Fowey, Port Isaac ( sadly didn't see the Doc! ), Polperro and Tintagel.  Weather didn't play fair at times, but this didn't dampen our spirits!  Pete was very welcoming - thank you for the wine, biscuits and flowers.  Thanks for a lovely stay."

Paul and Carol from Wells (Sam's Cabin

"Our second visit to Sam's Cabin and again weather and hospitality brilliant.  Reiterate comments from last year plus enjoyed excellent crab salads at Island View Cafe at Hannaford.  From Cabin look out for buzzards above the trees on the skyline, gold finches and occasionally bunnies in the field!"

Wayne and Debbie Kruger (Sam's Cabin)

"Sam's Cabin is beautiful and very comfy.  Our stay has been amazing and we would like to thank Val and Peter for the lovely welcome gifts, such a nice touch and made us feel very welcome.  Sam's cabin is an ideal base to go exploring the Cornish coast.  Definite visit is Polperro and our grand daughter loved crabbing in Looe.  All in all we had a wonderful holiday.  The pool is the icing on the top.  Thank you."

The Hartley family from Surrey (Sam's Cabin)

"We have loved our return visit to Trehalvin.  Having been so lucky with the weather we have been to a few lovely beaches, Looe, Millendreath (great beach cafe) and Polkerris and enjoyed eating at Sam's Cafe right on the beach.  We drove over to Port Isaac and Polperro was great."

The Thistlewaite family from West Yorkshire (Smugglers Cottage)

"A fantastic two weeks staying at Smugglers Cottage.  We've been very lucky with the weather and a big thank you to Val and Peter for making us feel so welcome.

Top Tips...Lantic Bay, a walk down to the beach but well worth it as far quieter than other beaches.  Poldrimouth bay, just beyond Fowey.  Again a little walk but a large shallow. Ove perfect for kids to swim and play and is beautiful.

Val suggested Sam's to eat out and we went to both Sam's in Fowey and Sam's on the Beach in Polkerris.  Both were fantastic but Sam's on the Beach is a beautiful place to eat.  We also enjoyed both Pendennis and Tintagel Castles. A great day was cycling from Bodmin to Padstow and back on The Camel Trail, twenty five miles and our six year old boy cycled it!  Had Rick Steins fish and chips."

The Alcock family from Bristol (Smugglers Cottage)

"We have had a lovely week staying at Smugglers Cottage.  Lots of days in Looe enjoying meals out, (the Sea Kitchen is a particular favourite), the beach, the lovely little shops and crab fishing.  We all enjoyed the pool and the meadow, was great for the kids to make some new friends.  Thank you for the welcome treats and the provision of books, DVDs etc. Great for entertaining the kids.  Also loved two boat trips and mackerel fishing."

X"

Owen, Emma, Abbie and Dylan Lever (9-16 August 2014)

"Thank you so much for a wonderful week.  It is a truly lovely lodge with everything you need for a family as well as some luxury extras.  The setting is beautiful and is clearly looked after to a very high standard. The pool area is particularly impressive.  Staying here has been a fantastic base for exploring Cornwall.  Having two young children (aged 5 and 2) we could recommend "The shipwreck and Heritage Centre" and "The Hidden Valley Discovery Park".  We hope to be back again soon!!"

Pietjan, Marjolien, Coen and Segar ( 2-9 August 2014)

"We have had a wonderful week at Trehalvin.  The weather was good so we have enjoyed the swimming pool, especially our boys.  We also had lovely day trips to Bodmin Moor, Lanhydrock, the aquarium in Plymouth, Fowey and of course The Eden Project.  Trehalvin is really a lovely hidden place in the countryside and from Daisy Lodge we had beautiful views.  The children enjoyed the playground in the big meadow in view of the Lodge.  Peter and Valerie thank you for your warm and personal welcome....and of course for the wine and cookies."

Jo, Robin, Polly 5yrs and Casper 2 yrs, (19-26 July 2014)

"We have had such a fabulous holiday here at Daisy Lodge and really, really don't want to leave!  The Lodge is perfectly designed to suit a family of four and contains everything needed.  It has been tastefully and thoughtfully furnished with quality products from the likes of John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and The White Company!  The freshly cut flowers, wine, milk and scrumptious dark chocolate ginger biscuits were a delightful touch upon arrival.  The spotlessly clean outdoor swimming pool is absolutely glorious and has been used by us endlessly all week in the Mediterranean heat and sunshine.  The meadow in front of the Lodge provides a sense of freedom and space which is always welcome.  For ourselves and our two young children this really has been a perfect place for us to spend our holiday.  We will, without any doubt, return.  A week just isn't enough time to fully explore this wonderful area.  Valerie and Peter thank you so, so much, please know that your hard work and dedication is very apparent.  Best wishes to the both of you. xxxx"

The Gerrards (12-19 July 2014)

"A truly relaxing and peaceful holiday location.  We particularly enjoyed the heated swimming pool, the barbecue, the comfortable beds, the fluffy towels, the play area and surrounding space, the decked eating area and the free wifi.  The welcome items of chilled wine, milk, biscuits and fresh flowers were a delightful addition. Thank you. Very well equipped and thought through holiday accommodation, a beautiful area of Cornwall. During our week long stay in Sam's Cabin we visited the Eden Project with a fifteen per cent discount voucher in the information pack. Polkerris beach, Looe. Polperro and Plymouth.  Altogether a lovely time was enjoyed by all.  Thank you very much."

Keith and Penny Moorton (31 May-7 June 2014)

"A lovely cottage in an idyllic location.  The pool and grounds are fantastic.  Rooms and amenities are excellent.  We felt very private but with the assurance that Valerie and Peter were always on hand if needed.  We recommend visiting Fowey, Padstow, The Eden Project, local caves and falls and if you fancy a trip across the county border, Widecombe-in-the-Moor on Dartmoor.  Many thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable stay."

Mr & Mrs Dickinson and family and Ellie the dog (20th 27th July 2013)

"Thank you for a wonderful stay in Cider Cottage.  We enjoyed our time in Cornwall immensely and felt very at home here.  Thank you for all the lovely little touches, especially the wine, milk, biscuits and fresh flowers, very handy on arrival after a long journey.  The cottage was a real home from home and a lot of thought has obviously gone into the decor and furnishings.  We had all we needed for a comfortable holiday and more.  We enjoyed the pool twice daily, a real treat.

We are sad to leave the peace and quiet behind!  The wonderful views from the meadow where we had a lovely picnic lunch whilst Ellie our dog looked longingly at the sheep!  Our favourite places we visited were Fowey and Whitsand Bay.  We also enjoyed Seaton, Mevagissy, Polperro and Padstow.  Boat trips from Fowey and Mevagissy were wonderful and Ellie regained her sealers.  Guenllian loved her bedroom in the attic and it became known as her private flat where no parents could enter. Thank you for a marvellous week, we will definitely pass details onto friends and family.  Diolch yn fawr."

Sally and Ava from Clevedon (12-19 July 2013)

"Sam's Cabin is the perfect hideaway!  Upon arrival we were immediately transported to the most magical place.  Waking up to the beautiful view of the meadow is breathtaking.  The accommodation 'top notch", chic and modern.  The pool was the luxury that topped our week especially for my little daughter.  We enjoyed fun days out to Whitsand Bay, Looe beach and park, Polkerris, Fowey, but found it hard to pull ourselves away from the Cabin.  Thank you for being such warm, friendly hosts and for a wonderful week.  We shall Definitely be back."

Emily, Dale and Edward (41/2 months) (8-15 June 2013)

"Thanks for a lovely stay in the cosy and welcoming "Smuggler's Cottage".  The biscuits, milk and wine were a great treat and most welcome.  We managed to enjoy a dip in the lovely warm pool on our first evening, Edward's first swim.  We visited some great National Trust properties in the area.  Lanhydrock is not to be missed and also Cothele.  Also had some great days out at The Gardens of Heligan , Fowey and St. Ives.  A wonderful holiday.  Thanks to Pete and Val for creating such a wonderful place from which to explore Cornwall."

Tom,Gemma and Olivia Jewers (17-25 May 2013)

"We'll be back!  Fabulous stay.  The Lodge is perfect for a little family, the girls Ruby 11yrs and Scarlett 4yrs loved the meadow and the swimming pool, the weather has not been good for June but that did not keep us from the pool.  Comfortable beds, warm and cosy. wine and milk etc very thoughtful gesture, Peter and Val really know how to look after their guests.  Recommend Polperro, Mevagissy boat ride to Fowey, Eden Project, St. Ives Tate, Seaton Beach Cafe."
